- Quizzes: Each chapter covers two vocabulary topics and two grammar topics. There will be a quiz after each of these topics. Corrections (without the use of your book or notes) may be made to all quizzes and half of the original points for each item corrected accurately will be given. If a quiz grade is less than 70%, a student must restudy and make corrections to that quiz. The goal of quizzes is to be a learning tool used for mastering the content.
- Tests: A test will be given at the end of each chapter. These are summative assessments of the vocabulary and grammar in that chapter. Tests may include listening, speaking, reading, and writing. No corrections may be made to a test to improve the score after the final grade has been given.
Summary: If you got any item wrong on a quiz, please come in at lunch to make corrections and improve your score! Every point matters. Even more importantly, learn the material now before we start learning new things. Everything will be reused again in the future as language learning builds on itself. Please don't be caught overwhelmed because you didn't learn something well the first time.... and always ask for help whenever you need it!
